more is more: maximalism in fashion and interior design

more is more: maximalism in fashion and interior design

is it really more, more? maximalism, characterized by a bold, extravagant and eclectic approach, is increasingly influencing various aspects of global culture! the idea that "more is more" is everywhere, from social media to interior design to fashion... but is it a good thing?

well, personally, I'm from the "minimalist" team, but I have to say that I'm catching some feelings from this maximalist era... the rise of maximalism reflects a broader cultural shift towards embracing complexity, diversity, and individuality. whether in design, fashion, art, or technology, this "more is more" philosophy invites us to celebrate abundance and richness in all forms! let me share a few examples with you.

"less is more" has always been a cornerstone of interior design, but this new wave is sweeping through! this vibrant, expressive style of interior design celebrates abundance, bold colors, varied patterns and rich textures - and I love it! I think it's not just about accumulating an excessive amount of things, but rather an artistic movement that invites us to revel in the richness of life itself.

if you're looking for some inspiration on how to add a pop of color to your home, here are two of my favorite instagram accounts to follow:

in fashion, maximalism is expected to evolve with a focus on sustainability, incorporating upcycled and repurposed items. a big important issue in today's world. if you are looking for some key elements of maximalist fashion, here are my suggestions:

1. bold prints and patterns: mixing florals, stripes, and animal prints in one outfit

agatha dress stripes and fringes

2. layering: combining multiple pieces, such as jackets, scarves, and jewelry, to create depth

sacai layered denim midi skirt

3. rich textures: velvet, sequins, and embroidery add tactile richness

wolf badger velvet trousers in emerald green

4. vibrant colors: bright and contrasting hues make a statement

loewe ibiza layered sunglasses

5. statement accessories: oversized hats, bold jewelry, and standout colorful bags complete the look

prada cleo bag

violet earrings
